Last night, despite the wind and rain, 421 crazy people gathered at the start line in Rivington Pike for the annual Petzl Night Runner fell race. Amongst them was five brave PTC athletes raring to go.

With a fast start, two runners disappeared into the darkness leaving Dave and Coach Pat fighting it out for 3rd and 4th place.

With Dave keen to try and better his 3rd place finish from last year (and not one to let Coach Pat beat him), about 3 miles into the race, he made his move on Coach Pat, pulling away never to be seen again until the finish line where Dave, once again, finished in an impressive 3rd place and winning some more silverware for his growing collection.

Coach Pat managed to hang onto 4th place until 5 miles into the race when a muddy slip cost him 6 places. He eventually crossed the finish line in 10th position.

Hot on their heals was Chris who somehow seemed to enjoy himself running down the side of a hill in the dark finishing in 111th place overall. Barry and Lucy then finished the line up playing cat and mouse throughout the whole race finishing together in 234th and 235th place (with Lucy letting Barry graciously take the win between them). Great start to the season. Next Race - Kendal Sprint Triathlon in April.
