The beginning of September was an epic time for a few of my overseas athletes with podiums galore.
At the Tugaloo Sprint Triathlon in Georgia (USA), husband and wife John and Lauren both came 2nd in their respective age groups and Hannah came 1st in her age group.
Back in the UK, Toby and Oli both completed The Roc England – a tough format with a swim, a bike, a run up Scafell Pike, back on the bike and then finishing up with a run.
Lee, back up to speed with his running after injury, flew over to Australia and finished the Sydney Marathon in style, then a week later was back in the UK finishing his 14th Great North Run and then just a few weeks after that finished the Royal Parks Half Marathon once again breaking the 2-hour barrier – legend!
Liam found his run legs and pulled off an amazing PB at the Windmill Half Marathon finishing in just over an hour and a half then a few weeks later went on to PB by nearly 30 minutes almost breaking the 5-hour barrier at the Vitruvian Half Distance Ironman – great improvements since earlier in the year.
Despite the swim being cancelled at the Weymouth 70.3, Imogen had a great race finishing her first 70.3 in just under 6 hours.
In his 2nd Half Ironman, Aaron had a great race at the Wako 70.3 finishing once again under 6 hours and getting a new PB by nearly 10 minutes. Not only that, Arron also found out that his result from the Shawnee Mission Triathlon earlier in the year qualified him to represent USA at the National Championships in 2026 – not bad for his first year in Triathlon!
