In Staffordshire, undertaking their very first ever 70.3 triathlon (half distance), Barry and Ian both proved that anything is possible when they both crossed the finishing line well inside the cut off times they were so worried about. Barry finished in 6 hours 55 minutes and 1 second (40 minute swim, 3 hours 24 minute bike, 2 hour 30 minute run) and Ian finished in 8 hours 8 minutes and 59 seconds (1 hour 1 minute swim, 3 hour 45 minute bike, 2 hour 59 minute run). Well done lads! So proud of both of you and the journey that you have been on, but it doesn’t end here – this is just the beginning!

Meanwhile in the lakes, Lucy also finished her first 70.3 triathlon in a really impressive 6 hours 31 minutes 26 seconds (35 minute swim, 3 hours 27 minute bike, 2 hours 17 minute run). Being a serial over trainer, it’s been quite hard to reign Lucy in, but we’re getting there now and the progress is becoming plain to see. And at the same race, Adam took on the full distance event finishing in a superb time of 10 hours 47 minutes 33 seconds (1 hour 4 minutes swim, 5 hours 42 minute bike, 3 hour 51 minute run). This is a massive PB for Adam at a full distance race and he is only going to get quicker! Well done Adam.

In between the Lakes and Staffordshire, Chris was racing at the Leeds Triathlon (Olympic distance). With a target of breaking 3 hours, Chris had a great race finishing in an amazing time of 2 hours 37 minutes 23 seconds (32 minute swim, 1 hour 10 minute bike, 44 minute run) - massively within his target time! Well done Chris.

Competing as part of a relay team at a half distance triathlon in the Cotswolds, Lynne absolutely smashed the bike leg in an outstanding 2 hours 56 minutes and 1 second. Well done Lynne – you’ve managed to impress me once again!

In addition to triathlon coaching, PTC also provides personalised run coaching and after only one month of run coaching, Denis ran his first 5k finishing in an impressive 7th place overall and 1st in his age group. This is just the start in the bigger picture with the goal of a half marathon, and maybe even a full marathon after that. Way to go Denis.

Oh, and just to show that Coach Pat walks the walk, he completed the Chorlton Cross Triathlon finishing in 5th place overall (14 minute swim, 35 minute bike, 23 minute run). Not bad for an old timer!

Even at this point in the race season, it’s never too late to start your coaching journey.

Please get in touch if you want to put more focus into your training and see fabulous results and improvements like these in your race fitness too.
