As the Triathlon season comes to an end for 2019, there were a few more achievements for PTC athletes last weekend.

First up was Chris who not only completed his first Half Ironman (Portugal 70.3), he went on to smash his expected time by nearly 30 minutes. With a target of finishing in around 6 hours, Chris finished the sea swim in 38 minutes, biked 2 hours 53 minutes and ran 1 hour 49 minutes bringing him home in 5 hours 35 minutes and 15 seconds. Not bad considering Chris only got into Triathlon (and swimming) just over a year ago!

Then Lucy (PTC’s inspirational outdoor swimmer) not only finished but dominated the Ivan Percival 4 mile Open Water Swim in Liverpool finishing as the 1st female and 3rd overall.
Building on their recent 5 mile swim in preparation for Ironman next year, Barry and Ian both completed (and exceeded) their first 100 mile bike ride. Rumour has it that they’re both still friends as well, but only time will tell!
And finally, PTC’s head Coach Pat finished the Kendal Castle Triathlon in style. Despite the torrential rain, Coach Pat finished 1st in his age group and 2nd overall.
Watch this space for more PTC achievements as we move into winter and the racing shifts from Triathlons to Duathlons, running and cycling events.
Team PTC.
