11th January 2022 - The Boys Did Good

Well it’s been a long time since I did a race report despite PTC athletes racing here there and everywhere, so a little update is better than none at all and I promise to do more in future.

Someone suggested that a knarly fell race on New Years Eve would be fun, so a few of Team PTC entered the Mad Bull Trails and Ales Fell Race in Rivington Pike.

At least the weather was good, unlike the course which was muddy, rocky, wet and seemed to go up forever and not come down.

But we all survived intact.

Bearing in mind that none of us are fell runners, or even train like runners (we’re triathletes after all) – the boys did good all finishing in the top half of the field.

Sam was the first PTC athlete home in an amazing 11th place, swiftly followed by Tom in 13th place and myself in 14th place (trying to keep up with Tom for dear life)!

Then came Stewart in 24th swiftly followed by Denis in 26th place.

And last but not least, Laurence brought the PTC cohort home in a very respectable 56th place.

Not bad for an end of year blow out.
